The new energetic track from Sarantos (and video) "You Have You", strikes me immediately with the atmospheric yet rhythmically hypnotic synths, setting up the up-tempo and dynamic song combining pop/rock/electronic styles in a very interesting, surprising, and original way. The top-notch production perfectly supports the delivery of the uplifting and powerful lyrics and very singable melody.
The vocals immediately remind me of Erasure's Andy Bell, and just when you think that the composition would settle in the synthpop style, it shifts to almost pop/rock singer-songwriter territory in the chorus. This strongly sets the track apart from other artists in both the electronic and standard pop rock genres, and I even detect a slight David Gilmore vocal tone in the chorus.
The video accompanying the song is very touching, thought provoking, uplifting, and optimistic. A very original and powerful composition indeed. Be sure to look out for future Sarantos releases, as I'm sure there are more original and creative tracks to come!
